This Week

  • Fresh fruits and vegetables for sale from the Dartmouth Organic Farm, Thursday, August 7th, 11am, outside of Collis Patio.
  • Free Preview of 2008-2009 season for the Hopkins Center for the Performing Arts, Thursday, August 7th at 12pm and 5:30pm, Moore Theater.
  • "Stoaked Off Road Triathlon, Trail Run, and Children's Triathlon" to be held on Saturday and Sunday, August 9-10 in Hanover, NH (Storrs Pond and Oak Hill).  This is part of the national Xterra race series and the Dartmouth Outing Club is among the beneficiaries of the race. Register and learn more at this website.

 

Ongoing 

  • "Movies Under the Stars" -- a free summer film program for families presented by Dartmouth College and the Town of Hanover.  Movies include "Chicken Run" (Saturday, August 16th), "Muppet Movie" (Saturday, August 23rd), and "Babe" (Saturday, August 30).  Films will be shown at the Reservoir Road playing fields.  Movies start at 8:30pm and the fields are open at 7pm.  Rain date for each film: the next day (Sunday).  Please note the new date for "Muppet Movie," which was originally scheduled for Saturday, August 9th.
  • Community memberships to Dartmouth College Athletic Facilities now available.  Renewals can be purchased starting Monday, June 16; new memberships on sale Tuesday, July 1.  Look for more details here.
  • "Black Womanhood," Images, Icons,and Ideologies of the African Body.  A major traveling exhibition which examinesthe historical roots of a charged icon in conntemporary art: the black female body.  Hood Museum of Art.  April 1 - August 10,2008.  For more information, please visit here.
  • Hanover Area Farmer's Market, Wednesdays, 3-6pm, June 4 thru September 24, on top of the Town Parking Garage (behind Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream at 11 Lebanon Street, Hanover, NH).  The market will include fresh produce, meats, herbs, cheeses, flowers, plants, dairy, baked goods and prepared foods. Enjoy local music, visiting with neighbors, artful demonstrations, provided through the League of NH Craftsmen, crafts, and local restaurant demonstrations while supporting your local farmers.
